Biography
Dr. Farhad Nikoo is dual board-certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and a Family Nurse Practitioner. He earned his Doctorate of Nursing Practice and a post-doctorate degree in Psychiatric and Mental Health from Brandman University, affiliated with Chapman University. He also graduated as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Detroit Mercy.
Dr. Nikoo has a comprehensive history of working across various healthcare settings, including emergency departments, intensive care units, family practices, psychiatric and mental health care, and addiction medicine. His experience spans both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings, covering areas such as addiction medicine, Crisis Stabilization Units, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP).
He views psychiatric disorders as conditions of the central nervous system that necessitate a solid understanding of neuroscience, neuropharmacology, and genetics. Dr. Nikoo adopts a holistic approach that considers both physical and mental health. His assessments include a thorough review of patients' past medical and psychiatric histories, genetic factors, and previous treatment outcomes.
