Panic Disorder

A panic attack is a sudden surge of intense fear with strong physical sensations. Panic disorder may be present when attacks recur and concern about another attack begins to shape where you go or what you do.

Panic symptoms can feel medically dangerous. A psychiatric evaluation considers both mental health and possible physical causes before treatment begins.

Fear of another attack can lead people to avoid driving, crowds, exercise, travel, or being alone. This can gradually limit independence and confidence.

We assess the timing, triggers, physical symptoms, medications, caffeine use, and medical history. Treatment may combine medication with referral for therapy that helps reduce fear of panic sensations and avoidance.
